“NORML” stands for the “National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws”. It is broken up into state-wide chapters and Phoenix is one of them! (Phoenix Chapter: www.PhoenixNORML.org – Tucson Chapter: www.AZ4NORML.org)
Arizona deserves the rights that 4 out of 5 surrounding states have: access to medical marijuana.
With all the prescription pills, which contain many toxic chemicals and probabilities of very undesirable side effects, being given out like candy by American doctors, cannabis should certainly be a legal, natural alternative. This is one of our goals. Another goal is to see the decriminalization of cannabis in Arizona.
Currently in AZ, students can have their financial aid taken away and be labeled a “felon” for life if a police officer finds as little as a roach or a hemp seed in their car. Cannabis is listed as a Schedule 1 drug with the DEA, listing it in the same category as heroin, ecstasy, LSD, and methamphetamines. Those of us who have used cannabis know that this is inaccurate to say the least.
